We are happy to invite you to the virtual conference on Turkey Sustainable Finance on the 9th of July organized by Standard Chartered. Our Capital Markets Partner, Muhsin Keskin will be speaking at the “Regulatory Trends Shaping the Sustainable Investment Landscape: An Overview of CMB’s Sustainability Principles and Overlaps with EU Taxonomy” panel.
The EU taxonomy regulation is a first serious attempt by government to regulate disclosure against sustainability targets. Policies are in place and statements are being made. In this panel, we will discuss the evolving regulatory space and what it currently means for Turkish issuers’ access to sustainable capital markets. In addition, we will discuss how this space is expected to evolve. This panel will focus on:
- The EU Taxonomy basics and practical implementation requirements for impacted financial intermediaries
- What EU based investors transacting with Turkish issuers may require as a result of the EU Taxonomy
- Any overlaps between the Turkish Framework and the EU Taxonomy
- Recommendations around implementing aspects relating to the EU’s Sustainable Finance Taxonomy
