The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources introduced some amendments to the Regulation on Acceptance of Electricity Facilities (“Amendment“). The Amendment was published in the Official Gazette dated 6 November 2021 number 31651 and it became effective on the same date. Please click here for the full text of the Amendment (in Turkish).
What’s new?
- Under no circumstances can the final acceptance period exceed three years from the date of the provisional acceptance. It is also explicitly stated that the final acceptance will not change the guarantee conditions and periods.
- On the separate transformers, conversion centers and grids, the temporary acceptance period of at least six months was already required for a final acceptance. The Amendment revokes the provision allowing this period to be shortened for generation facilities.
- Final acceptance procedures of electricity distribution facilities whose final acceptance has not taken place within three years following their temporary acceptance must be completed within five years following 6 November 2021.
Conclusion
The Amendment ensures the upper limits of the final acceptance period to prevent delays and it brings certainty to the process.
